Mmmm, Christmas morning. Hot chocolate and Denver Egg Strata in the oven. Snuggy pajamas and worn in slippers. Traditions, generosity, and a cozy we-aren't-leaving-this-house-so-don't bother-with-make-up feeling. This is my kind of day.
Since Brent, Joy and I slept over at my parents' house, we were the first to the party. We spent the first part of the morning curled up in the living room with hot cinnamon rolls. Mom and Joy looked at Christmas Eve pictures on her new Black Friday camera.
Brent keeping his eye on the prize...fantasy football on Christmas morning! Now that's dedication.
Once Amy, the Swartzentrubers, and Grammie arrived, we started the real festivities! Stockings first, of course. But this year mittens were hung by the chimney with care...
Noah got his first matchbox car. Big brother Jack was much more excited!
I wish I would have gotten a shot of the Christmas brunch spread. Everything was delicious! Even Grammie went back for seconds :) Instead, here's a picture of Brent and Garret under the mistletoe.
Nurse Amy had to leave at 2:00, but I insisted we get a quick sister picture before she left. Words cannot express how much I adore these three girls.
Boys needed a picture too
There's nothing sweeter than a cuddly baby. Can't believe he'll be one TOMORROW!
My mom got Garret this funny face plate for Christmas. She and Jack went into the kitchen and brought out a "snack" for everyone to share.
Looking very proud of his creation
I took less and less pictures as the day went on. But one of my favorite parts was the birthday cake for baby Jesus, complete with candles that Jack was happy to help blow out. Truly a joyous day.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6
What happy, cozy pictures. I'm so glad you got to see your wonderful family over Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day that was. You took some beautiful pictures, Katie.
