Parents Visit - Rum Point, Camana Bay, and Spotts Beach

We just got back from an unexpected trip to the States for Brent's grandpa's funeral. It is sad to say goodbye to Pop, but I am glad we got to celebrate his life with the rest of the family. Pop was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Our family is lucky to him him as part of our heritage. I will post more on our NJ trip next, but for now, here is the post covering Day 4 & 5 from Brent's parents visit.

On Monday we went to Rum Point. It's a 45 minute drive from our apartment, but so worth the mileage. When you're here, you get the full Caribbean experience. Even as a resident, I can't help but feel like I am on vacation when relaxing on those beach chairs and hammocks.

My hot pool boy :)

That night we got dressed up for an evening at Camana Bay. We planned to go to Abacus for their infamous seabass. Unfortunately, it was a public holiday (Discovery Day), so the restaurant was closed. We still had fun walking around and exploring the observation tower.

Tile artwork lined the walls in the observation tower. These pictures were worth the four story climb!

On Tuesday we went to George Town. There's not a lot of shopping to be done if you aren't in the market for jewelry, but we still had show them around our "downtown."

Brent's work - I'm so proud of him!

Next we headed to Spotts Beach. This private little beach makes me so happy. I love the shaded cabanas. Brent and Dad did some snorkeling and saw a sea turtle!

Brent and his beloved cheez-its. Life is good.

It was such a FUN visit. I love showing off "our island." After seven months in Grand Cayman, I think we've nailed down the best things to do with guests. There's not one thing I would change about our five days together. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for making the journey and being a part of our Grand Life adventure!

Parents Visit - Agua Brunch and Sunset Picnic

Like food pictures? Then this post is for you.

After church on Sunday, we took Brent's parents to Agua's brunch. This was our first Sunday brunch on island, but from our previous experiences at Agua, we knew they'd do it right. The spread was incredible!

We were the first ones there so we had the place to ourselves for a while. Mom and I really enjoyed the bottomless champagne :)

Made to order eggs

If I was impressed by the brunch spread, then I was delirious with joy when they set up the dessert table.

Strawberry and Mango Mousse

Tiramisu-like dessert

After brunch we were pretty stuffed, so we rested at home for a bit, then went snorkeling at Cemetery Beach. We decided to do a light dinner on Seven Mile Beach - cheese, crackers and smoothies.

The sunset it self was nothing too extraordinary, but the sky AFTER the sun set was amazing! It just kept getting better and better!

That's it for Day 3. Day 4 and 5 coming in my next post!
